We started farming in 1996. After experiencing negative health effects from chemical sprays, we left the conventional world behind in 2007 and began farming biologically. This means paying attention to the microbiology of the soil and helping it come alive without the use of synthetic and harmful herbicides, pesticides or other chemicals. Jason delved into that subject and applied what he learned. Over the years we have seen how greatly healthy soils can withstand the weather variations of heavy rains and also serious dry spells. These healthy soils produce healthy nutrient dense crops which in turn produce healthy animals, so the meat is wholesome and nutrient dense. By 2012, we began the 3 year transition to becoming organic and incorporated Fleckvieh genetics into the herd of cattle. By 2015, we were certified organic through MOSA (Midwest Organic Services Association). Then we transitioned to a 100% grass only feeding system through which the Fleckvieh cattle shined. In 2022, we chose to add a small amount of grain to our cattle's feed. Today we offer the highest quality organic pasture raised meats at a fair price.
