Buy Beef in Bulk
The most economical way to buy beef is to buy in quantity. You can buy a whole, ½, or mixed ¼ beef directly from our farm. Sharing the beef and splitting the cost with family or friends is a popular option. Geiss Meats does an excellent job of clearly dividing the portions of meat. We charge $3.50/lb hanging weight which is the weight of the animal after the inedible parts are taken off but before the meat is cut and processed. This amount is paid to us in 2 separate payments – a nonrefundable $200 deposit when reserving your beef and the remainder after the animal is taken to Geiss Meats and weighed. We deliver the animal to Geiss Meats of Merrill, WI which is less than 25 miles away from our farm. There the beef is aged for 10-14 days. Aging is important for 100% grass finished beef because (along with the Fleckvieh genetics and superb nutrition) it helps produce the resulting tender, flavorful finished product that we are confident you will enjoy! Geiss Meats will contact you for your processing requests. For example: how thick you like your steaks, what size packages of ground beef, or do you want the liver? After the meat is processed, packaged, and frozen, you will pick it up and pay Geiss for the processing costs. Approximate ¼ beef costs: Meat (hanging weight 150 lbs x $3.50/lb) - $525 Processing - $140 Total approximate cost = $665 A ¼ beef will net approximately 125# of take home meat which is equivalent to about 6 full size grocery bags. Size and cost of your order will vary depending of the size of the animal and the final hanging weight. Approximate ½ beef costs: Meat (hanging weight 300 lbs x $3.50/lb) - $1050 Processing - $280 Total approximate cost = $1330 Approximate whole beef costs: Meat (hanging weight 600 lbs x $3.50/lb) - $2100 Processing - $560 Total approximate cost = $2,660 Please contact us to match you with a processing date that best suits your needs. Although we do book dates year round, please keep in mind that it takes a good 24 months to grow and finish each animal so a couple month lead time is appreciated. All animals are raised with the goal of providing your family the healthiest and freshest meat possible. All of our animals are fed only 100% grass on our family farm. We not only provide meat for you, we eat an abundance of our own meat as well! Three growing boys make sure of that! What you receive is 100% organic grass finished beef direct from the farm on which is has been born and raised. No middle man or long distance trucking.
